Hard Rock South Asian & Indian Weddings

A Shaadi is rarely one event — it's a week of them. Here's how Hard Rock's five properties stack up for multi-day South Asian celebrations: which resorts serve Indian cuisine, which venues hold a Baraat procession or a 750-guest reception, and which property to pick for your specific guest count.

Planning a Multi-Day Celebration at Hard Rock

South Asian weddings are typically built around several distinct events across multiple days, not a single ceremony. Hard Rock's all-inclusive format and large venue portfolios at several properties make them a workable fit for this structure — but venue capacity, Indian cuisine availability, and group benefits vary significantly by property, so the right resort choice depends heavily on your specific event list and guest count.

Day 1–2

Mehndi

Henna ceremony — typically a garden or terrace venue for a relaxed, colorful gathering

Day 2–3

Sangeet

Music and dance night — often the largest indoor ballroom for performances and dancing

Day 3–4

Baraat & Ceremony

Groom's procession followed by the wedding ceremony — beach or largest available venue

Final Night

Reception

The largest event of the week — typically the property's biggest ballroom or plaza

The wedding package system stays the same. Hard Rock's five Inspirations packages cover the ceremony only, exactly as they do for any couple — see the full Hard Rock Wedding Packages Guide. Everything else in a multi-day South Asian celebration (mehndi, sangeet, baraat staging, reception) is built as custom enhancements alongside the base package, coordinated directly with the resort's events team.

Indian Cuisine by Property

This is the single biggest differentiator between Hard Rock properties for South Asian wedding groups — availability varies significantly and isn't consistent brand-wide.

PropertyIndian Cuisine Availability
CancunAvailable — Taste of India for qualifying groups: 75–99 rooms (3-night min) receive one dinner menu; 100+ rooms receive one breakfast/lunch plus one dinner menu. Smaller groups can arrange at additional cost.
Riviera MayaAvailable — same Taste of India structure as Cancun: 75–99 rooms (one dinner), 100+ rooms (breakfast/lunch plus dinner). Smaller groups at additional cost.
Punta CanaAvailable — basic Indian cuisine options offered to all wedding groups regardless of room block size, a broader standard than the Mexico properties' threshold model.
Los CabosNot available — no Indian cuisine option at any group size. VFL recommends Cancun, Riviera Maya, or Punta Cana for groups requiring Indian dining.
Vallarta (reopening Dec 2026)Not available — consistent with Los Cabos; confirm status again for 2027 as the property reopens.
Check this before you book, not after. If Indian cuisine for your wedding week is a requirement rather than a nice-to-have, Los Cabos and Vallarta are off the table regardless of how well their venues fit your guest count. Cancun and Riviera Maya's threshold model also means a smaller group (under 75 rooms) needs to specifically arrange Taste of India in advance at an additional cost — it isn't automatic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Hard Rock have a dedicated South Asian wedding team?

Hard Rock's onsite wedding coordinators work with VFL to build custom multi-day event programs, but Hard Rock does not have a brand-wide dedicated South Asian specialist team the way some other resort brands in our portfolio do. VFL's own specialists coordinate the mehndi, sangeet, baraat, and reception logistics directly with each property's events team.

Can we bring our own caterer or specialty vendors for Indian cuisine?

Outside catering policies vary by property and are generally restrictive at all-inclusive resorts. Where Indian cuisine isn't available in-house (Los Cabos, Vallarta), ask your VFL specialist about the resort's outside vendor policy rather than assuming it's an option — it usually requires special approval and additional fees.

Is there a venue for a Baraat procession?

Most Hard Rock properties have open plazas, terraces, or beach access points suited to a Baraat procession, though none are purpose-built for it the way some venues elsewhere are. VFL works with the resort's events team to map a procession route and staging area appropriate to your chosen venue and guest count.

Do the mandap or ceremony structures come included?

The five Inspirations packages include a fixed décor structure (per package tier) rather than a traditional mandap. A custom mandap setup is typically arranged as an additional décor enhancement — ask your VFL specialist to coordinate this with the resort or an outside decor vendor where permitted.

Which property is best if our group needs Indian cuisine and the largest possible venue?

Punta Cana is the strongest match on both counts — Indian cuisine is available to all groups regardless of size, and the Isle of Wight Plaza (600 ceremony, 500 reception) is among the largest venues in the brand. Riviera Maya and Cancun are strong alternatives if Indian cuisine is needed but the group is closer to 75+ rooms to qualify for Taste of India.
