For the couple's package costs, both countries are comparable — complimentary tiers are
available at both, and paid tier prices are similar across equivalent brands. The differences
are in the components: the DR has lower per-room nightly rates (saving guest money on
accommodations) but higher average flight costs from most US cities. Mexico has lower flights
but slightly higher room rates. For guests flying from the US East Coast, total per-person
cost is often comparable between the two. For guests flying from the Midwest, Texas, or
West Coast, Mexico's direct flight availability typically makes it cheaper overall. The DR's
Barceló Mon–Thu 20% discount on paid packages is a structural cost advantage that no Mexico
brand matches — for date-flexible couples with a paid package, this can represent $2,000–$6,000

Which destination is best for a South Asian wedding at an all-inclusive?
Mexico is the dominant SA destination because it is the only country of the three with
3AM entertainment (Paradisus La Esmeralda Cypress Ballroom — essential for a proper
Sangeet), an over-water Baraat venue (Kanna Bridge), and a dedicated SA package by name
(Dreams Dulha & Dulhan). For ceremony-only SA programs (Pheras without Sangeet),
the Dominican Republic's Paradisus Palma Real (Malva Beach 1,000 ceremony) and Barceló
Bávaro Palace (Convention Center 5,000) are strong alternatives at larger scale. Jamaica
has no dedicated SA all-inclusive programs. For any SA program that includes a proper
Sangeet, the destination must be Mexico — specifically Playa del Carmen.
Which country has the best weather for a destination wedding?
All three destinations share the same peak season (November through April) with similar
weather — warm, low humidity, minimal rain. Value season (May through October) brings
higher humidity and occasional afternoon showers at all three. The key difference is
hurricane risk: Jamaica sits most directly in the Atlantic hurricane belt and carries
slightly higher risk than Mexico (Cancún/RM) or the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana).
For October weddings specifically, Cancún is historically more reliable than Jamaica.
