Baja California Sur Legal Marriage Costs
Getting legally married in Los Cabos means going through the Baja California Sur civil registry process — separate from your resort's wedding package, and separate from a purely symbolic ceremony. Here's what it actually costs and requires.
- Blood tests — required for a legal civil ceremony (HIV, syphilis/RPR, blood type); must be done at a certified lab in Baja California Sur (results from your home country are not accepted); valid only 15 days before the wedding
- Arrival timing — arrive at least 3–4 business days before the ceremony, not counting weekends or Mexican holidays, to complete testing and paperwork
- Documents — valid passports, FMM tourist permit, apostilled birth certificates officially translated into Spanish by a certified translator, and (if previously married) an apostilled divorce decree or death certificate
